About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

    Awesome weekend I had,

    Monday, July 6th, 2009

    what about yours?

A pretty busy an hectic weekend I had with back-to-back shoots here and there and also, a birthday party to attend. But who says I’m complaining haha, instead I kind of liked it a lot since I am of course doing something that I really love!

Saturday morning was a full day schedule where I and some other photographers were given a chance to photograph 2 awesome Subaru cars and included in the package, was Jezamine Lim, the winner of 2009’s FHM Girl Next Door competition. Just when you thought that the weather was extremely hot, it got hotter when she arrived!

That’s cause the sun was up higher already lahhh ish what you thinking all lol!

A bit thank you to Kim for organizing this, and hopefully I get to win the competition lah yeah hahaha and also to Jezamine for brazing the hot sun to give us really awesome photos.

Awww, Nigel looks so cute here lol!

Next, it was a rush back home for a quick bath after a quick lunch with Fried Beef, Kim, Bugs and Amkay and then its another rush down to 1 Utama to organize and help make Nigel’s birthday celebration a little more fun, especially for us hehe!

But more on that later, or rather just watch the video that Joshua will be posting up soon once he’s done with the editing’s and upload hehe. And yeah and happy birthday Nigel, how does it feel to turn 26 in the next few coming days hehe!

The next day, it was a rush around town, back to PJ, and back up to KL again lol! In the morning, I was in Best Western Premier Seri Pacific Hotel for the Bridal Fair jointly organized by the hotel and Weddings Malaysia. And also because one of my partners has a booth there as well so I went and check it out lah haha. It wasn’t too bad and you can see loads of pretty pretty things all shiny there, makes you feel like touching it haha!

Then it was a drive back down to PJ to purchase a desktop, submit photos to clients and back up to Pavilion for an event shoot. It was a pretty big event actually, even Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the PM’s wife came and officiate the event wtf and guess what the event is actually all about…

    Yup, the Megasale Carnival launch!

Lol, wanting people to spend more money, even the launch was ritzy-fied. From performances all around, it does feel carnival-ish and it was generally really fun photographing the event. Although tiring with having to run back and forth between outside the main entrance of Pavilion to the centre court where the officiating ceremony and speeches were given, it felt good to be always on your feet and that’s what I love about this job hehe!

Oh well that was my weekend in summary, how was yours lol!

A pretty weird but overwhelming anniversary

    Friday, April 24th, 2009

and again, this is abit outdate but what the heck haha!!

Just last month, Zouk KL celebrated it’s 5th anniversary and I had the opportunity to cover the event as a part of the media thanks to Zouk. People started pouring in right before 9 itself and all were already in line waiting just outside the entrance barrier and of course being experience with last years anniversary as well, one should know that its best to go early to avoid the chaosness and therefore, there we were standing with the others waiting for the barrier to be opened!

Once we entered, I was as giddy as a school kid wanting to explore the place!

Yup it was brightly litted, with all sorts of colorful decorations and people dressed up all weirdly but at the same time fun to see as well. If you did not know, this year’s anniversary theme is Fantasia hence the costumes and mashed-ups. Some were downright funny, some were interesting and yet, some were just plain darn scary and weird!

Like literally weird, wtf is that supposed to be anyway?

Free flow of drinks were provided to guests outside before entrance into Zouk was allowed and mind you that each rooms has different themes and decorations all around it but of course the officiating and main celebrations has to be in the Main Room and that was where I was at most of the time.

Well LapSap plays no factor in it, no sirree, nu-uh, nope, ile, ie, tarak, tak ada!

Check out the flying cock cork

What can I say, I have awesome tastes in music and it was either LapSap or Mambo Jambo, here I come where I did spend some time there and I think this really is somehow showing my age eh haha! Anyways to sum it all up, after the officiating, the party continued until the wee hours of the night where strangers met and became friends and well, I’m sure some became more than that but good for them lol!

The night ended pretty early for me as it was a weekday and yes there is work the next day so unhappy I was about leaving, I had to. Even though about taking leave the next day but I guess I can’t simply waste a day of my annual leaves just like that. One needs his holidays yo, well don’t you haha!

Sigh oh well at least I had a good time and if you were there, did you? LOL!

    First random post

    Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

to start off in this blog and it was from the weekend weeeeeeeee!!!

It was a pretty chilling weekend with only the need of working on Saturday night and on a rare saturday such as these, all I ever wanna do is to spend the afternoon just lazing at home and it certainly did help hehe. Watched a couple series’s episodes which I have downloaded but have not had time to watch them, edited some photos that needed to be done and submitted them already and am in hopes that the client will be happy and also the joy of just lazing on the couch watching tv which I have not done so in a very very long time….

Then night came and it was the first job that Mist Club has to offer me, in conjunction with a special guest DJ all the way from Australia, Dirty South was really quite good despite not having to hear off him before. A bit lapsap-ish with a mixture of trance in there, a mashed-up atmosphere that is just perfect to work in and pure awesome music to enjoy and jiggy to!

Can’t believe I just said that haha!

Oh by the way, I have changed my header slideshows to display 5 from the batch of shots from the Dirty South night at Mist Club. Well, on Sunday it was a pretty lazy day as well with myself and Jen just lazing the afternoon in Tropicana City Mall and finally settling at Starbucks just to enjoy some buy 1 free 1 coffee and chill to random music being played and 1 month old magazines.

Hoping to have more and more of these kinda weekends hehe!

    O haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!1111

If you’re here then hurray you are officially one of the first few that are reading this all new blog from me and yes, I have subjected to the horrors of getting my own domain and am officially a WordPress user now, oh the horror!

    DSC00345Nigel and the D300 with 300mm f2.8 lens attached

And to commemorate this special occasion, the first post of this blog will be featuring some of the pictures that I have taken recently and am still loving, well not recently lah since Sunburst 09 happened like a few weeks back and well, I can’t help it if other pictures were prioritized on editing and filtering first cause if not clients will complain haha!

    But anyways Sunburst 09 = 2 words!

    DSC01523N.E.R.D

Awesome and legendary! Although the line-up this year was a bit of a disappointment, I still enjoyed myself a lot especially when Butterfingers and N.E.R.D performed. By the time N.E.R.D was done, and although I love KoRn as well, I was too tired to stand and so, I listened to KoRn from afar damn!

    DSC02217

T.A.G is the same as ever only on a bigger, more happening scale which we have always come to love, the venue was amazing with it being very spacious and almost wanting every single rave party’s to be held over at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian Park.

    DSC00421

Many shops were setup as well ranging from charities to overpriced food and beverage that comes as no surprise to many and with Tuborg being the main sponsor of the event, many different ‘beer camp’ sites were setup around the entire venue making sure that dehydrated party-goers remain hydrated for only a tad 5 minutes before wanting more alcohol and gets wasted even before the main acts performed.

    Awesome sights indeed!

    DSC00482

Oh and not forgetting to mention chicks in bikinis (No, I’m not posting pictures on that haha) totally surrounding us, from the asians to the foreigners, it was a sight to behold and heaven indeed! Too bad for all you folks who missed it haha!

    DSC02058

Although it was kind of ridiculous when it came to entrances for people whom brought DSLRs, and I have always found it ridiculous. Why refuse people whom have brought DSLRs entrance? For sure most would say “To prevent people from selling images from the event.” but somehow it is simply ridiculous. People whom have compact cameras are allowed in but even a Canon Powershot G10 has the capabilities of a DSLR and images produced are as sharp as ever and come on, have they ever heard of free marketing for their company as well?

    DSC00923

    Butterfingers

Anyways that was just a biased point of view from myself as some friends of mine had complications in entering the premise of the event whereas myself, I had no problems for God knows what reason but am thankful in the end hehe..

    DSC01165

    Butterfingers

All in all, it was a very enjoyable and tiring event but no regrets there although I did miss Estrella perform, there’ll be loads of chances. Oh and did you notice the slideshow of pictures above, replacing my header?

    DSC00562Nigel Pwned!

Well there will not be any header for this blog anymore as each week or so, I will be displaying 5 of my best pictures from an event and this week, it’ll of course be featuring my Sunburst 09 pictures and these pictures is all I super duper like!
