About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

    HerStory Films Project

    Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Freedom of speech is what most people want but not all have the luxury to have. Some are shun upon and some are persecuted in their fight for freedom of speech and this is what everybody should be taken attention to. Sure, it is a great idea to have, some are for it, some against it. Let’s face it, there’s a 2 sides of a coin to everything and for this matter, who are we to say if it’s good or bad when most have only faced the middle of it.

But to top it off, women has had the most problems in expressing themselves. Whether it be in the forms of sexuality and desires, or just plain voicing out their opinions. Not everyone could have done it, but I know a few whom have. If you’re keen on hearing what these women have to say, do check out the ‘HerStory Films Project’ where it features real-life Malaysian women whom has their own personal stories to share. It’s non-profile, and it puts everyone in perspective, depicting it in video storytelling and short film projects.

These short films will be directed by 5 well known local directors which are Bernice Chauly, Mislina Mustaffa, Crystal Woo, Mien.Ly and of course, Sharifah Amani in her very own directorial debut. The short films in which will be made into short movies are:

Red Hibiscus by Susan Bansin (directed by Sharifah Amani)

Still by Julya Oui (directed by Mislina Mustafa)

Liebelied (Love Song), by Nadira Ilana (directed by Bernice Chauly)

Spirited Desire by A. A. Lee (directed by Crystal Woo)

Sex, drugs and love written by Ruby from Pink Triangle (directed by Mien.ly)

So why not check it out as it’ll be enlightening and do check out HerStory Films Project website to find out about more details.
