About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

    I feel so important!

    Monday, August 17th, 2009

Cause what I’m about to do is a first on this blog hehe…

You know, I have watched many romantic comedies before and the most memorable was the one that brought DGMB together. Just a simple random gathering, who knew that it would turn into something more for us and that we’ll all grow closer to each other and being more than just bloggers whom knew each other.

    We became close friends!

Who knows that maybe it could happen to you as well. Somehow, movies have some magic in them that brings people together and thanks to Sony Pictures, it could be magical for you as well because I’m giving away 5 pair of passes to 5 lucky people to watch the premier screening of The Ugly Truth on the 8th of September 2009 at 9.30pm in Cathay Cineplex Damansara.

Simple enough, all you need to do is to leave your name and email address and you’re set to go but only to the first 5 people whom have commented on this entry. Yes 5 pairs are just too little but over the course of the next few weeks, some others will be giving them out as well and see if you can spot their blog addresses somewhere in this post hehe. Oh plus, a little bird told me that the next person giving out passes has the number 1 in his name.

Here’s a little something to get you started eh:

For those whom have been confirmed to recieve the passes, the invitation emails will be sent by 3rd September 2009 so do check your emails by then, mark your calender yo hehe and I’ll definitely see all of you there.

PS:For more trailers, go to the official Sony Pictures Youtube page.

    Doesn’t it make you wonder?

I mean, what would really happen if aliens were to really exist and they came here, to earth?

I guess that’s what Peter Jackson had in mind when he came up with his latest movie, District 9. When I finished watching it, it reminded me of Resident Evil 5. Well you can tell if you’re a gamer and it shared a lot of similarity in terms of the movie’s meaning. Many would watch it and wouldn’t really think that there was somehow a meaning behind it but when you look at it closely, one could really feel disturbed when watching it, but more on that later eh…

Welcome to the life Wikus van de Merwe of where in the movie, he works for a company called MNU or Multi-National United. 20 years ago, aliens somehow landed on earth right in the middle of a city and yeah you guessed it, all hell broke loose with humans trying to take charge of everything, even when they’re not from the same planet. Aliens are segregated to their own camp called District 9 (makes you wonder what happened to the previous 8 hehe) and some humans well, the usual lah. Some are against it, and some hate the aliens and others well, are neutral.Well back to Wikus and as the movie progresses deeply, you get to see a nature that all of us have, that all of us can’t really deny it but if you wanna know more you have to watch it yourself hehe.

You know, without the Blair Witch Project/Cloverfield kind of presentation, it would have been a like a pretty normal movie to me but somehow, it really does add to the atmosphere to it as though you’re really looking at it from a different point of view. Love the camera angles, love the alien technology, love the story! But as much as one would enjoy the movie, you really can’t help but feel a bit weird after watching it but for myself, not as bad as Jen though haha. Well for one, I mentioned it before it really reminded me of Resident Evil 5 where segregation, racism and all things controversial are in it.

Somehow it reminds you of how real the world is, how human you can be when one is faced in a life and death situation. I bet most of you wouldn’t really play hero when its your life that is more precious to you. But do watch it and lemme know how you feel. But before that, here’s some fun facts, or rather, fun clicks hehe:

    Or even, catch the trailer…

Oh well, this movie deserves a 9/10 from me. Minus 1 cause not enough chicks hahahahaa! (Just kidding)

Although I would very much love a post for myself, but alas this post is for the ladies because it’s….

    Boys

    Like

    Girls……

Love their songs but not really into the people but Kel Li and Jen begs to differ haha. Sigh I don’t think Pixie Lott will ever be doing an appearance other than the concert this Saturday though but boy she’s hot hehe. Google her if you’re curious, one of her notable songs are Mama_Do_(Uh_Oh,_Uh_Oh).

I think I really need to blog more, been slacking haha!

    Weekend roundup

    Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

It was a wonderful yet tiring week….

As most of you I’m sure had some rest, in total my weekend of sleep was only 4 hours and it was back-to-back shoots in many different events altogether and it was total ecstasy, or shall I say banyak syok haha!! Although tired it was still really fun and I enjoyed myself, especially when it comes to meeting new people lol.

Although PC Fair was entirely for pure self entertainment lah but more on that later lol!

It began with Saturday morning, having to wake up early and head off to the Subaru Showroom in PJ where one of my photos was chosen as a finalist for the photo competition that Subaru was having. Remember this? Yeah, one of the photos that I took during that outing was selected and although I didn’t win anything, being in the Top 10 out of 180 entries made myself feel like I’m going somewhere here!

    My submission

Well, gotta work hard more from now on roar!

Then after that, it was off to 1 Utama where a friend is to give a speech on wedding planning (Yes, she’s a wedding planner by profession) and I was there to support her and also market myself haha! It turned out pretty good as some couples were interested in my services and hopefully, it will open up more doors for me yay!

If you did not know, I am a wedding and events photographer and do check out my company’s website here. Although still new, it’s slowly starting to build up and I’ll probably do a much proper pimping later on haha! Give it a visit alright.

At night comes the Heineken Green Room event where it was really so much fun photographing it, especially when you go wide the entire night lol! Thanks Kelvin for the camera, the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 lens is seriously poisonous haha. Loved the event and the opener was orgasmic! Filthy Dukes totally rocked the night and I ended the night in Barsonic with DJ Didjital and DJ Xu spinning some awesome mixes.

Like usual, many were there to party and even met loads of friends there. I guess that when it comes to partying, everybody will surely be there especially when everybody has the same interests haha. Oh and not to mention as well, it was a big event lol!

Guess my Saturday ended awesomely but I had to get up at 8 the next day…

And that’s where my 4 hours of sleep went to and yup, to the PC Fair I went just for the fun of it. Was there to scout out some prices of hard disks, memory cards and check out the latest promotions of Macbook. Am saving up for it yo and hopefully I could get one soon haha! And of course who can forget the PC Fair chicks!

This one’s for the guys lol!

Right after that, it’s off to MATIC to shoot a dance concert and this being my first time shooting a ballet concert, it was quite challenging but fun at the same time and I absolutely loved how my photos turned out haha! With loads of colorful lights everywhere (I’m attracted to pretty lights lol), ballerinas dancing gracefully and little kids dancing where all of them was just so cute!

But I’m not gonna show the kids, not yet anyways haha!

That’s how my weekend went, how was yours?

PS: On a side note, I just won passes to the MTV World Stage Live in Sunway Lagoon. Thanks KLue, wooooottt
