About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

I guess this is how life is…

    Friday, June 26th, 2009

It’s been 3 days since I’ve been on-site at a certain bank now

Things are quite different here, most of them I have not met before ever since I started working in the company. But all the same, they are all still very friendly and even though the atmosphere and environment is very different compared to back at the office, I could still adapt to this place quite quickly.

A familiar place that I have been stationed at, used to be at this area a lot during my college years. Somehow, I do miss the food here and although I dread the transportation issue that I was worried about before, on the other hand I am glad to be here. Taking the lrt brings back many memories, some happy and some painful but I guess life moves on.

Heard on the radio this morning that Michael Jackson had passed away at his current age of 50. Some say its suicide, some say it’s an overdose on drugs, I say that may he rest in peace and I don’t really care about how he died. Another mention is on Farah Fawcett, may she rest in peace as well. She did great, she was an awesome actress and although overshadowed by the news of MJ’s death, you will still be remembered.

But I think its funny how when only somebody dies, then only you’ll remember them

Somehow this post sounds a bit different from what I usually write, sounds a bit serious and also, it sounds a bit dull. But I guess once in a while, it should be good for the soul. To remember the important things in life, that one always forgets. We try so hard to think about the future that we neglect the present that we have.

This particular post brought back, somehow thinking there’s more to it than just work.

It made me remember, made me think….

I guess it really is sad how one’s death is the only time where we remember the important things in life when one’s happiness can make us forget

is sometimes short and sometimes, it just dies…

    Coffee Schmoffee Japan GT

    Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Think I better kick my butt back into blogging more frequently now!

New goal, update every 2 days! Let’s be optimistic first and start slow, cause I don’t wanna scare myself away lol! Anyways, I am finding myself to be very dependent on coffee again lately, be it Starbucks, Nescafe or just plain coffee powder.

The last time this happened was during college time where a tin of Nescafe is needed almost every 3 hours and to me, it was pretty normal I guess. Whether it is caused by a lack  of sleep, my current lifestyle or just for the love of coffee I do not know, or rather its a mixture of all 3 of them (must be lah haha) it doesn’t really matter as it has finally set in already.

Now if only Starbucks would provide me some kind of VIP membership or something lol!

    Ok, enough of that!

The entire day today was spent over at Sepang International Circuit where the Japan GT race was being held over the weekend. So that means the usual’s that you can find at these sort of events are cars, chicks, photographers, chicks, people, chicks, hot weather, chicks, sweat and cars! Yes, I mentioned car once to many and just ignore the other ‘c’  word haha!

One can notice the abundant amount of photographers at these sort of events lugging around their huge ass lenses and cameras and if you’re innocent, you would think that they would use it to capture the race but instead, almost 90% of the time they were pointing the lens at the Japan GT Queens.

Well like I’m any different also lah haha!

Cars were especially chunted as well, with a whole load of line-up of car enthusiasts parking their pimped up rides to be displayed. Kind of like a showroom but you don’t get to sit in and explore all the pretty little buttons. Aren’t you just tempted to even press one of those when you’re looking at it, haha!! Loud and roaring engines bursting through the atmosphere, creating an almost deafenining moment everytime one of those race cars passes by.

Not almost, but definitely deafening I guess hehe!

Nothing has changed since the last GT race but it is ever exciting as always. A good experience if you must know, and definitely a totally different one compared to F1 races. It’ll be a whole other year before the next one cames along, so book your dates next year around this time to experience one of the most exhilirating time and one must do before they die item on the list!

Or you can just go for the chicks, whatever works for you lol!

    Sawadi Krap!

    Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

and yes I know that it will take me a while to blog about the entire trip so why not just a summary will do haha!

Just imagine those words ‘Bangkok‘ as ‘Phuket’!

It sometimes disgusts me to no end that I am blogging lesser and lesser these days. It’s so disgusting that I could even take a picture of an elephant poo and edit it for the longest wee hours so that it’ll look awesomely pooshed and weeeed and that does not even make sense! And fyi I certainly did not do that if you were wondering but I do have a picture of an elephant poo haha!

A green one to be exact lol!

So anyways, a 3 day 2 night stay in Phuket all summarized in one post.

Took a flight to Phuket via Air Asia having to get up at 3.30am just to be on time for the 6.50am flight that nearly took a life out of me gahhh. Arrived in Phuket at 8.30am KL time in which it got kind of confusing for us because KL is actually 1 hour ahead of Phuket so in other words, you could say that the flight was in total of only half an hour hahahaha! Of course I kid, but yeah confusion set in just nicely, but got used to it after a while and headed straight to one of the most awesome hotel that I have ever stayed in.

Indigo Pearl Hotel is its name, and posh is its game. Having a freaking huge area which includes a private beach, one could take about an hour or two just to explore the entire place and all in all, there were 3 public pools and some of the rooms have their own private mini pool but unluckily, ours do not. The room was huge, a combination of 2 actually since it was a suite and yeah, quite an open bathroom where it only has curtains to cover and best of all, the shower was a see through and to solve our problems of having to bath, yes the curtains was our savior!

Imagine having to announce each time you wanna go into the bathroom, especially if you were to do your business haha!

This is not even half of our room, that was how big our room was lol!

But it was pretty fun and the room was extremely spacious. Not only that, they even specially cater weddings whereby they have just the spot for people to get married at and by just having a look around the place, I knew that someday I would love to photograph a wedding here, especially pre-wedding shoots! The geek in me compells me to and I can’t help it lol! We rested the rest of the day, took a swim in the awesome Infinity Pool, and came night time, we explored Patong Beach which was roughly around 40 minutes by cab from the hotel.

Yup, they have it all here. Food, clubs, bars, Thai massage, white people, strippers, lady boys (that’s what they call em), McD pork burgers and Starbucks (which we refer to as civilization lol). We were there that night and the next for the food, experience and best of all, the Thai massages which I regretted going for only one night and it was the last night of our trip! I’m missing it already argh and it was so cheap as well compared to KL.

On the second day, we went for a Safari Trip which we got to sit on an elephant, explored the jungles of Phuket, ate some local Thai food, watched some lady rubber tapped, witnessed another lady crack open a coconut with a spearhead and made some coconut oil, watched some people ride a water buffalo (not Nigel) cart, and entertained by a deranged monkey set on getting at you and yanking your head off!

I was kidding about the last part but the monkey was entertaining at the very least lol!

Then it was beach time in the evening where we witnessed an amazing sunset, took some awesome portraits of ourselfs with some very cliched ones but still nice hehe! And the above, well its just a preview lah, will show the rest of it soon I guess haha! The next day was the worst of all 3 days that we were there because it was time to go back and yes, I dreaded going back home, back to kl, back to work…

I wished that I was still there sigh but budget does not permit sigh…
