About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

Sometimes, randomness does me some good

    Thursday, April 30th, 2009

added in with some good old pictures of chicks and hunks for your viewing pleasure!

And yes I admit, it’s more chicks than hunks anyways but seriously, it would be darn gay to post more half nekid guy pictures on this blog ok and it has already exceeded the allowed gay limit already, even if it’s posting a single photo hmph! Anyways some of you might have already known, last month I joined the DG Color Miss Photogenic competition and have gotten 9th placing in it and yes it was a real surprise for me, especially if you have seen the photo….

    Yup!

Nothing out of the ordinary but I guess photography is a very subjective topic and if the judges like it, well a very big thanks to them and I have to admit this particular photo was not exactly in my expectations to win because I had thought that some of my other submissions were better but what the heck, at least this allows me to gloat for a while because HAH take that all you ‘pro’ photographers whom have large big ass expensive cameras and lenses because in the end, it all boils down to the abilities yo hahahaha!!!!!

Well that really wasn’t very nice of me, sorry but sometimes, don’t you just detest the way some photographers look at you and your gear and just give you that irritating look that says “Oh, he’s just an amatuer” by just basing it on the gear that a person has? Well that is another topic alltogether but on the other hand, few weeks back I was selected to be the OP for Quiksilver’s Spring & Summer Fashion Show and well, what can I say, it was awesome!

It was something that I could only dream of last year, to be the OP of a very huge event and especially if its a fashion show and I guess it could be a start of something even bigger, well one could dream and work towards it right and of course, a big thank you to Quiksilver as well for the invitation.

There were loads of people already there when I arrived and seeing the red carpet filled with people, who wouldn’t be excited and just rush off shooting them in plain sight and giving them loads of flashes and ok that really sounded very wrong if taken in the wrong manner but who cares haha! Heck I even got to go to the backstage filled with chicks and hunks and that is a first for me lol!

But oh well, more on that later because this post is so random, I just don’t know what else to write anymore haha…

    It is announced!

A pretty weird but overwhelming anniversary

    Friday, April 24th, 2009

and again, this is abit outdate but what the heck haha!!

Just last month, Zouk KL celebrated it’s 5th anniversary and I had the opportunity to cover the event as a part of the media thanks to Zouk. People started pouring in right before 9 itself and all were already in line waiting just outside the entrance barrier and of course being experience with last years anniversary as well, one should know that its best to go early to avoid the chaosness and therefore, there we were standing with the others waiting for the barrier to be opened!

Once we entered, I was as giddy as a school kid wanting to explore the place!

Yup it was brightly litted, with all sorts of colorful decorations and people dressed up all weirdly but at the same time fun to see as well. If you did not know, this year’s anniversary theme is Fantasia hence the costumes and mashed-ups. Some were downright funny, some were interesting and yet, some were just plain darn scary and weird!

Like literally weird, wtf is that supposed to be anyway?

Free flow of drinks were provided to guests outside before entrance into Zouk was allowed and mind you that each rooms has different themes and decorations all around it but of course the officiating and main celebrations has to be in the Main Room and that was where I was at most of the time.

Well LapSap plays no factor in it, no sirree, nu-uh, nope, ile, ie, tarak, tak ada!

Check out the flying cock cork

What can I say, I have awesome tastes in music and it was either LapSap or Mambo Jambo, here I come where I did spend some time there and I think this really is somehow showing my age eh haha! Anyways to sum it all up, after the officiating, the party continued until the wee hours of the night where strangers met and became friends and well, I’m sure some became more than that but good for them lol!

The night ended pretty early for me as it was a weekday and yes there is work the next day so unhappy I was about leaving, I had to. Even though about taking leave the next day but I guess I can’t simply waste a day of my annual leaves just like that. One needs his holidays yo, well don’t you haha!

Sigh oh well at least I had a good time and if you were there, did you? LOL!

and it’s all bundled into one small device!

Jen’s Canon G-10 rocking it on with Aaron’s external flash

Title did not make any sense but haha who cares anyways. Just yesterday, I was invited to have a hands-on experience with the recently launched Nokia E75 by Text 100 and Nokia which was held in Saffron Mediterranean Bistro up in Solaris, Mont Kiara. It was a pretty good place actually, with good food especially the mushrooms but I think I’m getting off topic and you can go experience it yourself!

Mr. Bambos introducing to us the e-mail service on Nokia

Anyways yeah i have always been a big fan of Nokia ever since they launched their E-series by which I much prefer compared to the N-series, maybe I’m more of a business minded kind of guy who wants minimal games but at the same time, would wanna try and stay connected but oddly enough, the plan was never pulled through thanks to the working environment I have because I’m always on my laptop the entire day in the office.

Even when I’m not, I’m still connected at the clients place wtf….

So when Nokia introduced the E75 yesterday which is built mainly for email purposes thanks to its large QWERTY keyboard that the phone has to offer and also the single client access that you can use to access both my general and of course my work emails (hope I got that right haha) but it didn’t exactly appeal much to me other than the sleek and cool design of the phone compared to the E71 that Gareth has if I’m not mistaken.

Maybe I’m not much of an email fan yet or maybe I am just too resistant to change. Heck even now itself, although I’m a very very big fan of Nokia phones, I still can’t afford to get myself one and yes I am using a 3 year old phone mind you by which to some people, it is a certain horror to be using the same phone for 3 years but to me, I’m just awesome instead!

However, I will tell you the truth!

Although contradicting but I certainly would love to have a more hand-on experience on this phone in contrast to the minimal allowed of time to fiddle with it yesterday. I ain’t really very techy about stuffs when it comes to explanation but it could prove me wrong once a more complete exploration is done.

Well, if and only if I can ever get my hands on one that is haha!

    It’s here again….
