About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

    {Fashion} Pavilion Pitstop

    Monday, April 5th, 2010

A big thank you to @meiyingt for the invitation to shoot at Pavilion Pitstop.

It’s been a while since I last did a runway shoot and yeah this time I came with bare equipments lol! Reminder to self, need to get 70-200mm ASAP lol! Anyways I guess it was a pretty fun event, met @techsupremo and had a chat with him together with @icednyior and also catching up with Dwayne, a college mate.

Oh well, pictures only ahead with no edits, just added borders and watermarked and shots were taken with 85mm only.

Misha Omar performs during the intermission

See, told you why I need the 70-200mm haha =p

{Random Ramblings} Banana Leaf Rice, Mango and Shoes!

    Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Spent alot during the past month, bought so much stuffs and yes, definitely a new lens will be in the list as well =p

But most of all I learnt alot also. My love for wedding photography grew even more, confirmed a couple of events to shoot at including one in Ipoh and also product shoots which is really quite an unfamiliar territory but that is a different matter all together. A random post this is again, and I think I should name this series as Random Ramblings cause it sounds cooler that way =p

Had some yummy banana leaf rice on Saturday morning over at Nirvana Banana Leaf Restaurant, Bangsar.

Slightly pricey as just for a portion of 2 person and 4 drinks totals up to about RM26++, but delicious nonetheless. Try it out. Also I heard that there was another call Kanna somewhere in SS2, PJ which is pretty famous as well. Have yet to try that though.

Had a shopping experience with @kellster and @serpentinegal over at Cats Whiskers where I bummed at the shop’s couch and ended up sleeping. Might have humiliated myself during the process as well with some snores and will avoid the shop ever from now on. Oh it’s the season for 50% storewide sale over at Cats Whiskers now and yes all girls should flock there and not spend on Gucci/Prada. I’m cheap that way =p

Some yummy dessert shop came running along to me at Bangsar where it serves all things Mango, my favorite yum!

Check out my Mango Froz aka Mango Yogurt! Super deliciously awesome and refreshing! Shop is just right opposite Czip Lee, behind of Hong Leong Bank, do check it out!

Paid a visit to Subang Parade to disturb @CincauHangus as he was manning a booth of his sisters that sells second hand books/magazines. Looking all cute behind the booth, with his iphone playing some angry birds game while listening to really really the most horrible singings ever in any singing competition, I was tempted to take a photo of him. But he might kill me so here’s a photo of just the books.

Went on downstairs to finally try the Dessert’s bar.

They seriously have the most awesome Sorbet ever, the Grape Sorbet. Go try it as it was as refreshing and addictive  as sex! Gave me instant orgasm right when it went into my mouth.

During the night, it was the Blog for FT event where I was invited by @nigelais as he was one of the finalist for the competition.

And yes, you can definitely guess what the results is right if you know @nigelais….

He won 2nd place, winning him loads of stuffs including a Rempit Bike! Check out his haul, now I regret not robbing him on his way back home that day.

Bought a new pair of shoes and it was dirt cheap! Well I stumbled upon the shoes quite some time back and at the time, they didn’t have the right size for me so when I went back there to check it just now, lo and behold, the perfect fit!

    The brand first of course!

And yes color was unique and it became a clear factor on why I had to have these pair of shoes.

Cause it was exactly the same colors as to my blog design, even the shade as well.

    Nice eh?

    Kris Allen Showcase

    Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

    I’m on a roll here!

Two blog post within 3 days is incredible, especially for me. First of all, a big thank you to Sony Music Malaysia for the passes to Kris Allen‘s Showcase and especially, the meet and greet ones. You guys behind @sonymusicmy on twitter totally rock and oh if you have twitter, do add them up ok for freebies.

Trust me, they give loads of swag almost everyday!

Anyways yeah I won a pair of passes to the showcase and the meet and greet session via @sonymusicmy which was pretty awesome actually seeing as it is of course, the first time an American Idol winner graced our shores and performed. Hitz.fm was the official radio station for the showcase, hence the emceeing by JJ and Ean from the morning crew and being the cheeky people they are, they called a couple of people from the audience to sing some of Kris Allen’s songs.

The amount of photographers there were insane cause there were no rules prohibiting people from bringing their gears, hence myself as well haha! Camera’s flashing everywhere, but one thing that irritated me was, if you’re not using your flash, frigging take it off people! What’s the point of keeping it on, blocking people from bring able to see or even photograph and not freaking use it geez!

    Ok, rant over!

Kris put on a great show, if not marvelous!

Although its just a showcase, and not many songs were sung nor was I even a fan of him (don’t kill me please haha!) but once you’re there, you can tell that he’s a great performer. Definitely worthy of the American Idol Season 8 Winner title. A great rocker, with an awesome band all back from even before his idol days which is one of the things I admire about him. Most people tend to get caught in the glory of being a celebrity but Kris is just the opposite.

One thing for sure, I’m a concert guy!

I love going for concerts! I love shooting em. The awesome ray of bright lights, the energetic performance of the people and musicians just lights up every part of me and when I come home to work on the photos, it leaves me with a sense of accomplishment every single time. I guess I really love what I do, especially when it involves colorful lights (I’m like a bug, only attracted to bright lights haha!)

Photos only from here on, since I’m sure most of you are only interested in that lol

Reminder to self, don’t just bring a 85mm to a concert, bring more lol!

    ZOMG WTF????

    Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

It’s been more than a month since my last update!

Haha I must totally suck right now. Anyways, one photo only for now while I try and kickstart my blogging gear back up again and also cause I need sleep!

Oh and this is from the Kris Allen Showcase just now, kthxbai!!

    Merry Christmas!!

    Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Ok fine, belated… A bit the fail right haha!

Christmas has always been a special time for me. I love christmas, I mean who doesn’t. Unless you’re like a super grinch then maybe lah but still main point is, I love christmas! Whether I’m spending it alone, with friends/family, the carols or just the plain fact that we’re celebrating the birth of Christ, everything about it is all love to me. This year was a bit special with many things lined up for my christmas season with so many things to do, there was very little time to even take a breather.

First started off with a mini celebration a week before christmas at Kel Li’s place but a separate post on that will come later. Then come Christmas eve, it was off to my church’s Christmas eve celebration over at Flamingo Hotel. I admit that I haven’t been going to church in a very long time due to it being very far and I’m always too tired to wake up on Sundays  (major reason here haha!) but going back has made me realise how much I miss it alot and therefore, a new year resolution to go back to church has been made, awesome much =D

On Christmas day itself, it was full of rest and just a light and fun dinner with Jen and her friends over at Paddington House of Pancakes but on the 26th, it was pretty major as it was my first maternity shoot. It was exciting but pretty scary at the same time. Truthfully, I was actually nervous during the entire session since I had never done a maternity shoot before, Heck I don’t think I knew what I was doing 80% of the time but in the end, it turned out alright I guess…. well hopefully lah =p

Check out RPStudios Photography for more photo updates soon yeah, will be posting it there!

At night, it was CG’s Christmas Night and seriously, I miss the heck out of everybody there. Being there again made me realise how much I missed out, sigh I really have to make time for all of this. Timetable drafting session is already on the way and in 2010, it will commence. Reminder to self, include my calender inside as well even though it is already filling up like nobody’s business for next year haha. Anyways CG Christmas Night was so full of fun especially the sharing session, carols and donuts  and as usual, its Haji Tapah mamak after CG session everytime I come back up.

The next morning, I hung out at The Gardens New Zealand Natural outlet for some gaming session of Monopoly Deal. Seriously, this game is so fun, you’ll get addicted to it and play non-stop. Yeah, this champion is a winning record holder of 5 wins in a row so far and I’m definitely gonna make a six, seven and eight tonight at Aaron’s birthday/new year’s party wooza!

Come night time, the usuals and I went over to SIBKL, Andrew’s church for a musical that they were producing and yes it was very good. Loved every moment of it although I wished that it could have been longer though haha. The lights were so colorful, I was so attracted to it that I kept staring non-stop. Do not in any way flash colorful lights at me for I will turn aggresive and try to steal it if possible!

So, how was your Christmas? Hope that it was as fun as mine and although its a very late wish, Merry Christmas to all of you. Since it’s new year’s eve as well, a blessed happy new year to all of you as well. May your 2010 be even more awesome than 2009!
