About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

{Sneak Peek} Wedding in the midst of random fun

    Thursday, April 1st, 2010

A bit tired today, somehow I wonder why when its actually just like any other day hmmm.

Anyways just a sneak preview post of a recent wedding I shot about a week back. Thing is, this couple only booked me about 2 weeks before their wedding and you could imagine how rushing it would have been. Normally I wouldn’t accept it but since I was free why not. Not to mention it was a weekday wedding as well haha but still, a big congratulations to them. They were very lovely, sporting and fun, traits that I really love in all of my shoots.

Like I said, sneak peek only lah yeah hehe =p

    Chinese New Year is over!

    Monday, February 22nd, 2010

But even now I can still hear fireworks all over!

How was your CNY? Mine was pretty relaxing and although hot, it wasn’t too bad. Total spoils from CNY, angpaus and a total of RM16 from Black Jack, I love CNY haha! Shot a ROM before that too, will do a separate post on that later =)

Short post as well, while I console myself first before monday blues takes me over.

    Bridal Fair at Cyberview Lodge

    Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Last Sunday was my first time being at a Bridal Fair, not as someone who look see look sees, but as a vendor.

It was pretty exciting actually, seeing everything from the other perspective. All this while I have only just been going to the fair out of curiosity and check out the wedding photographers there, it pretty much made me feel happy that at least I know that I am getting somewhere. Just a background, RPStudios Photography is a vendor and in partnership with a one-stop wedding hub called Budget Brides and we were showcasing our promos and available services that we offer at the fair.

But I know that next year, I will definitely have my own booth roar!

But that is another matter haha. Anyways, Cyberview Lodge is pretty well known in the garden wedding sect of weddings and I can tell that it is pretty true when the place really is beautiful and yes, there is a lot of running space as well, especially for us photographers haha.

I love it when I have lots of space to run around when I photograph a wedding cause it allows limitless possiblities!

There were definitely other vendors as well such as other photographers, videographers, makeup artists, gowns, wedding planners and loads others that are all things related to weddings organized by Weddings Malaysia. A pretty well known wedding hub in Malaysia which well is pretty direct in its focus, which is all things weddings. Anyways back to the fair, it was a pretty enlightening experience for myself especially when meeting other people from the same industry.

Going through the customary introductions at each booth, meeting new peoeple and learning as well from them does open one’s eyes a lot more to notice the smallest details during interation with clients, marketing, promotions and of course, the industry and the people in it. All of them are very nice people and hopefully, I can learn more from everyone.

Oh well, wish me luck in my not-so-new-but-not-old-either venture in wedding photography haha!

    Been a long time

    Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Yeahhh, since I last posted up anything sigh…

Project is almost coming to an end, well almost means 70% lah and this is just the first phase. Two more phases to go roar! I will prevail and definitely be awesome at it haha. Let’s just hope that the project testing phase goes well and please wish me luck lol. If you wanna know what I’ve been busy with till I have no time to update, which I’m sure everyone of you don’t really care lol, here’s a sneak preview into what I’ve been doing alot these days…

No I’m not getting married, but am photographing weddings alot which I really am passionate about. Do drop by my company website and check it out yeah. On an unrelated topic, looks like Kel Li and Nigel are hooked on HIMYM too, come into my web buahahaha! Oh and guess what I got, an upgrade weeeeeeeee….

Take a guess as to which model is this hehe.

For those who knows, you’re not allowed to answer. For those who don’t well no prizes unless you want some hugs from me, and those are not free haha! Cost me a bomb, and looks like I’ll be eating bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next 2 months from now on sigh. On a lighter side, this is the first photo I took from my brand new darling hehe

Don’t know why, but I feel like pimping it haha

    Weekend roundup

    Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

It was a wonderful yet tiring week….

As most of you I’m sure had some rest, in total my weekend of sleep was only 4 hours and it was back-to-back shoots in many different events altogether and it was total ecstasy, or shall I say banyak syok haha!! Although tired it was still really fun and I enjoyed myself, especially when it comes to meeting new people lol.

Although PC Fair was entirely for pure self entertainment lah but more on that later lol!

It began with Saturday morning, having to wake up early and head off to the Subaru Showroom in PJ where one of my photos was chosen as a finalist for the photo competition that Subaru was having. Remember this? Yeah, one of the photos that I took during that outing was selected and although I didn’t win anything, being in the Top 10 out of 180 entries made myself feel like I’m going somewhere here!

    My submission

Well, gotta work hard more from now on roar!

Then after that, it was off to 1 Utama where a friend is to give a speech on wedding planning (Yes, she’s a wedding planner by profession) and I was there to support her and also market myself haha! It turned out pretty good as some couples were interested in my services and hopefully, it will open up more doors for me yay!

If you did not know, I am a wedding and events photographer and do check out my company’s website here. Although still new, it’s slowly starting to build up and I’ll probably do a much proper pimping later on haha! Give it a visit alright.

At night comes the Heineken Green Room event where it was really so much fun photographing it, especially when you go wide the entire night lol! Thanks Kelvin for the camera, the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 lens is seriously poisonous haha. Loved the event and the opener was orgasmic! Filthy Dukes totally rocked the night and I ended the night in Barsonic with DJ Didjital and DJ Xu spinning some awesome mixes.

Like usual, many were there to party and even met loads of friends there. I guess that when it comes to partying, everybody will surely be there especially when everybody has the same interests haha. Oh and not to mention as well, it was a big event lol!

Guess my Saturday ended awesomely but I had to get up at 8 the next day…

And that’s where my 4 hours of sleep went to and yup, to the PC Fair I went just for the fun of it. Was there to scout out some prices of hard disks, memory cards and check out the latest promotions of Macbook. Am saving up for it yo and hopefully I could get one soon haha! And of course who can forget the PC Fair chicks!

This one’s for the guys lol!

Right after that, it’s off to MATIC to shoot a dance concert and this being my first time shooting a ballet concert, it was quite challenging but fun at the same time and I absolutely loved how my photos turned out haha! With loads of colorful lights everywhere (I’m attracted to pretty lights lol), ballerinas dancing gracefully and little kids dancing where all of them was just so cute!

But I’m not gonna show the kids, not yet anyways haha!

That’s how my weekend went, how was yours?

PS: On a side note, I just won passes to the MTV World Stage Live in Sunway Lagoon. Thanks KLue, wooooottt
