About David Cheong

Hi and welcome to Davidclicks.net.

Thanks for dropping by this blog where I pour out my visions, sights, experience and especially my work here. Well, you could call it my very own personal dumpsite lol!

Photography is a love where it started off 3 years back and pretty basic in fact where I shot almost anything and everything. Now I'm a full fledged weddings and portrait photographer only, but sometimes, I also indulge in the occasional events photography as well to widen my views and perspective. To view more of my works, do visit RPStudios Photography. For inquiries or that you just want to share some love, why not drop me an email here.

I would love to hear from you!

Freedom of speech is what most people want but not all have the luxury to have. Some are shun upon and some are persecuted in their fight for freedom of speech and this is what everybody should be taken attention to. Sure, it is a great idea to have, some are for it, some against it. Let’s face it, there’s a 2 sides of a coin to everything and for this matter, who are we to say if it’s good or bad when most have only faced the middle of it.

But to top it off, women has had the most problems in expressing themselves. Whether it be in the forms of sexuality and desires, or just plain voicing out their opinions. Not everyone could have done it, but I know a few whom have. If you’re keen on hearing what these women have to say, do check out the ‘HerStory Films Project’ where it features real-life Malaysian women whom has their own personal stories to share. It’s non-profile, and it puts everyone in perspective, depicting it in video storytelling and short film projects.

These short films will be directed by 5 well known local directors which are Bernice Chauly, Mislina Mustaffa, Crystal Woo, Mien.Ly and of course, Sharifah Amani in her very own directorial debut. The short films in which will be made into short movies are:

Red Hibiscus by Susan Bansin (directed by Sharifah Amani)

Still by Julya Oui (directed by Mislina Mustafa)

Liebelied (Love Song), by Nadira Ilana (directed by Bernice Chauly)

Spirited Desire by A. A. Lee (directed by Crystal Woo)

Sex, drugs and love written by Ruby from Pink Triangle (directed by Mien.ly)

So why not check it out as it’ll be enlightening and do check out HerStory Films Project website to find out about more details.

Ok, if you do not already know, I love music!

Music has been a part of my life ever since I was born. Literally, especially if your mum sings at every time she gets (well I’m not sure if this is true but I like to think it happened like that) and yeah who has not listened to radio even if you were a baby. This generation is lucky enough to be blessed with so much musical talents which varies from so many different genres such as Usher, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, and to top it off, the cast of Glee which yes combines music from a whole lot of different generation all into one series and they even have the tenacity to awesome-fy these songs even better!

And you know the artists that I just mentioned about, most of time I love! And to top it off, behind the scenes they are managed by the same company called Sony Music. Banyak stim leh, when you have all of them under the same company and with a lovely cherry on top of it, Sony Music Malaysia has only just came up with a Facebook Fanpage! Yes if you did not already know, Sony Music has a branch here in Malaysia too and not only are they on Facebook, they are also on Twitter.

You might ask why all the hype, or why am I even so happy about a fanpage/twitter account.

Well, does the photo above make you jealous? Haha yes, it’s thanks to Sony Music Malaysia that I won a Meet and Greet pass during Kris Allen’s showcase recently on twitter and not only that, I’ve won a couple of CD’s from them as well. Sony Music Malaysia is pretty active in the social media scene, on facebook and on twitter. You get to win loads of goodies, some concert/M&G passes if you’re lucky and loads of other stuffs as well. Oh and just recently, 5 lucky fans got to have an ice cream session moment with local celebrity, Alif Satar sponsored by New Zealand Natural.

    How’s that for awesome?

Oh and you know, this blog post can actually get me *hehe* 2 free CD’s from Sony Music Malaysia as well by just promoting their Facebook Fan Page on my blog. For more details, click here on how to get it but do remember that this promo ends tomorrow (18 June 2010).

Hurry up and do it if you want freebies yeah =)

    Something new is coming up…

Yes as according to the title, it will make you hungry lol!

Anyways, I’ve always been a food person, hence my overweight tummy size (although am trying ‘very very’ hard to lose it at gym). Good food is easy to find, but really good ones are tough. Here in KL where there is food just about anywhere. If you’re local, you know of the ones so secluded in the city, one would feel so scared just by in the said area. And of course there are those whom people know of , that are lying in plain sight. Well, when I first heard of this place, which was through an article somewhere I thought wow sounds interesting. And then I gave it a try, but finding it wasn’t exactly easy since the place where it is located at is so new and all.

Given that I actually discovered the area it was at by accident without having to go through Google Map if you know what I mean, pure joy and happiness follows through =p. The Pink Sage Diner & Pantry, located at Solaris Dutamas although does not exactly reflect its name in terms of color, gives off a very chilling ambiance. Myself and Jen first tried it out for dinner a couple of weeks back loved it so much that we instantly wanted to try the breakfast dishes also and although its called breakfast, they serve it up till 6pm.

Inside it sits a very very very cool poster, right behind a their DJ deck which I’m sorry although it is cool, its such a shame that I forgot what it said. To the owners of The Pink Sage Diner, if you are reading this, I really really REALLY wanna know where you bought it =D. Also while we were there, they were showing a live telecast on their projector the F1 race, which gives it a plus point being inside and all. I always approve places that has these combination’s, air con, food, and projector/tv =p

Yes, many different shots of the menu cause I was so intrigued by it that it is made out of paper which I’m guessing is recycled. No idea why but really different and very cool although it is kind of a pity when it gets dirty.

Serving water differently, it comes in its very own water container for all whom order it. Makes me want to steal it away the moment I saw it but its not easy task since its so big. Reminder to self, bring a big bag the next time =p. Jen ordered the Haagan Dazs Chocolate Ice Cream Milkshake (RM13.50). Very smooth and chocolaty, anything from an ice cream goes really well with me, I ain’t picky.

Take a break with a picture of her enjoying every minute of it!

A breakfast dish for Jen with the Greasy Breakfast (RM15.50) that has fried eggs with corned beef, hash browns, streaky beef brisket and fried tomatoes in em. Hash browns and fried eggs FTW! Since its called Greasy Breakfast, you can expect some really oily but a very satisfying meal. Writing this at 12am isn’t helping much either since looking at it makes me even more hungry lol.

A mixed up in my order had me instead trying the Angus Beef burger in which I did not regret at all. The meat was juicy and tender, tasted so beefy and yes it was THE best burger I ever had. But it did come with a hefty price tag. One of the most expensive burgers they have, it is still a must try at least just once. You don’t know what you’re missing!

Very evenly cooked, and a big compliments to the chef that cooked it. Am definitely getting it again the next time I’m there, although the other dishes are very tempting as well.

All dishes comes in pretty decent servings which for a big eater like me is more than enough.

Here’s the address in case you were wondering and do check out the website as well. A perfect place to chill with friends and hold parties/small events, definitely a good place to be at. Alternatively, you could have a read at Jen’s review here. Definitely a much better review than mine haha.

    {Fashion} Pavilion Pitstop

    April 5th, 2010

A big thank you to @meiyingt for the invitation to shoot at Pavilion Pitstop.

It’s been a while since I last did a runway shoot and yeah this time I came with bare equipments lol! Reminder to self, need to get 70-200mm ASAP lol! Anyways I guess it was a pretty fun event, met @techsupremo and had a chat with him together with @icednyior and also catching up with Dwayne, a college mate.

Oh well, pictures only ahead with no edits, just added borders and watermarked and shots were taken with 85mm only.

Misha Omar performs during the intermission

See, told you why I need the 70-200mm haha =p
